The Project Management Tool 2024 International Showdown (a.k.a. quick comparison guide to ClickUp vs. Asana vs. Notion vs. Monday).
ClickUp
Pros: In-house documents, subfolders, and whiteboards; "all of the bells and whistles," plus they're releasing new features all the time;
Cons: Less friendly user interface; steeper learning curve; takes a longer time to load; costs extra for guests to have editing permissions;
Best for: The tech-savvy among ye who love to build out automations and optimize added features;
Asana
Pros: Friendly interface; easy to set up recurring tasks; non-billable guests can be invited to specific projects or tasks;
Cons: No in-house documents, whiteboards, or subfolders; chose a Sanskrit word for their company but pronounce it incorrectly (yikes);
Best for: Keeping it simple and sharing user-friendly PM boards with outside parties;
Notion
Pros: Super customizable and aesthetically pleasing; non-billable guests can be invited to pages; great for collaborative documents;
Cons: Can't easily do recurring tasks; less structured and thus can be overwhelming to set up; less focus on task management:
Best for: Creative planning, project brainstorming, client portals, and collaborative documents;
Monday
Pros: In-house documents, subfolders, and customizable analysis dashboards; Very friendly user interface and automations;
Cons: Basic features require extra fees—recurring tasks, integrations, board views, adding guests to specific boards or folders;
Best for: Folks interested in analyzing their team's productivity stats on a granular level;
